HPMA presents a new Code Compliance Network program to partner design professionals and publishers with consumers who purchase pre-designed house plans. This new Network is ultimately for the benefit of the consumer who may need the assistance of a professional in their local area.
The Network will help ensure that their plan of choice may be revised/updated to meet local code and permit requirements. The HPMA Database will provide a list of qualified professionals by state so that the designer may choose who they would prefer to contact on behalf of the consumer. The Network will be linked through the HPMA home page.

A. What is the value to me to be a part of the HPMA Code Compliance Network?

  • Web site listing and link to your own web site.
  • Web site searchable by design professional name or by state
  • HPMA publisher and designer members may choose to refer pre-drawn house plan buyers to the Code Compliance Network database
  • Site may be linked from publisher and designer member sites
  • Educational information on copyright will be featured
  • Designer to designer networking

B. Who is eligible for membership?

  • Any registered architect, registered engineer or NCBDC Certified Professional Building Designer (CPBD)
  • Those individuals who may not meet these requirements may submit a qualifying set of plans and application for review by the HPMA Code Compliance Network Committee
  • Qualifying set of plans to include:
  • One example set of plans for which you received permit approval indicating in some manner the revisions that were made to the original set
  • Indicate all team members (engineer, surveyor, etc.) used for permit approval
  • Please provide plan set via e-mail in PDF Format for review:

C. Membership Costs

  • Current HPMA members may join the Code Compliance Network without additional charge, however qualification criteria still applies.
  • Individuals who are not current members of HPMA can join the Code Compliance Network for a cost of $200 per year payable with application or may join HPMA to receive full membership value for an annual fee of $400.

D. Fees

  • All fees must be negotiated directly with consumer and are the sole responsibility of the design professional contracting for the Local Code Compliance plan work.
  • No fees of any kind will be charged or paid back to the referring design or publishing members.

E. Responsibilities

  • The HPMA Code Compliance Network is merely providing an informational service linking designers to designers, publishers to consumers. HPMA is expressly excluded and indemnified from all contractual agreements between same.
